The Rest of the Road Trip pt.2

Continued...
Drove through the night.  Good idea? Probably not.  But it gave us more time in other places.  Plus the states we missed:  Our Kansas Arkansas and Oklahoma.  I am okay with that.  Rotated drivers probably every two hours.  We all were getting so tired.  Couldn't sleep in the back.  Restless.  Watched Dan drive.  Saw him start blinking for longer amounts of time.  Woke up Arthur.  Told him to pull over because he was FALLING ASLEEP.  Switched drivers.  Finally the morning the came.  Stopped at a truck stop to shower.  It was so nice!! Erika and I got us a deal on showers from the janitor.  After we were finally clean, we ate breakfast.  The waitress thought Dan was crazy.  His laugh was so loud.  We were delirious.  Drove some more.  Got a hotel.  Slept like babies.

Only cool thing in Oklahoma

Miles and miles of roads.  At least it's pretty.

We had to keep ourselves entertained somehow..
Woke up.  Kept driving.  Drove through the tip of Texas.  Arthur and I really wanted to visit Austin but we didn't have time. :(.  Drove through New Mexico.  The roads are so fun and bumpy.Went to the four corners.  New Mexico.  Arizona.  Colorado.  Utah.  Took pictures.  Watched Taylor propose again.  Bought earrings for my mom.  Saw a car from Oregon.  First Oregon spotting.  Drove down from the four corners to the world's oldest petrified tree.  It was lame.  Saw the meteor crater.  Paid $20.00 each to see a hole in the earth.  It was cool though.  And windy! Drove further and went to the Grand Canyon.  It is one of the most beautiful places in the U.S.  It shows how amazing the hand of God is.  You could honestly spend a week there and still not see the whole thing.  Or get tired of it.  It was incredible.  Left because we had to get going.  Drove to Vegas.  Ate at In N Out.  YUM. Got into Vegas at 1:00am.  Booked our hotel on Expedia at 12:30am.  Got to our hotel.  Tried to check in but didn't have reservations.  Arthur tried calling Expedia.  Taylor tried booking another hotel for us.  Got another booked.  Arthur talked to Expedia and realized that since it was 12:30am, we were booking for the next night.  We did that TWICE.  WHAT.  Finally booked a room for the correct night.  A cool one at that. After the frustrating detour, got to the hotel and slept off frustrations.

Simply beautiful
So blessed to have experienced this with my love :)
God's incredible work.

Grumpy Arthur :)
Had an awesome breakfast in the morning.  Continued to try to cancel the rooms we had booked for the wrong night.  Went into Vegas.  Held a nasty reptile for $5.00.  Saw the fountains at the Bellagio.  Walked around a bunch.  Looked at cool stores.  Looked at cool hotels.  Watched drunk people and sales people trying to sell women.  Gross.  Next stop: Laguna Beach.  Planned on swimming on the California beach but it was too cold by the time we got there.  We got there at 5:00PM.  We had an amazing pizza from a cute little shop.  Arthur and I had a salad eating contest to win a Reese's. Yum. Walked down to the beach.  Watched Taylor propose again.  Drove the 101 up the freeway so we could watch the ocean and sunset.  There was too many stop lights so we got on i5 instead.  Kept driving until late, and got a hotel room.  Slept soundly.
Vegas

Laguna Beach!!
AWWWW!

Woke up.  Had another continental breakfast.  YUM.  Kept driving.  Got to the Oregon border.  Almost ran out of gas .  Paid an arm and a leg for it.  Stopped at a small Mexican restaurant. Had burritos and dessert. Drove to Crater Lake.  Before the Government shut down.  WOOHOO!  It was freezing.  There were a million mosquitoes.  Welcome back to Oregon.  Had delicious hot chocolate. Shopped in the Crater Lake store. Got back on the road and headed home.  Drove until 10:00PM which is when we pulled into Arthur's driveway.  We were home.  Bittersweet moment.

No words needed.

Names are only so helpful--> but pictures! That's what draws people in.  Could be a memory of a time, or the feeling you get when you picture yourself in that situation.  The power of photography is huge . Pictures can take you back to a moment you had-- one that you could never go back and repeat, and it gives you joy.  Photography can also cause laughter, and quite frequently--embarrassment.  For those pictures, thankfully there is a delete button.  But compare this post to my last one.  Instead of the names of all of the cities and countries to visit on a Eurotrip , try pictures .  See if it entices you more.  These pictures correlate with the list of cities in my previous blogpost... but I will have to split it in half and show you the first fifteen in this post, the last 16 in the next.. :)

Tiffany & Co Bridal Shower

So you've seen my Coral themed bridal shower (For those of you that haven't, you should definitely check it out here ) but as my duties as a maid of honor, I was given the opportunity and privilege to host my cousin's bridal shower.  When I asked her what she wanted as a theme- she knew instantly.  "Breakfast at Tiffany's".  I had no idea how many great ideas I would find on Pinterest under this category, but let me tell you- there was millions!  It was so fun.  We had it this last saturday at the same place I had mine at- so some of the things look pretty similar, just in a different color.  Everyone was asked to wear black which was adorable, and the bride wore a black and white dress so she stood out.  She looked so beautiful.

10 Reasons Why Japan is Wonderful

Japan is a very special, unique little place.  Well- it’s not THAT little. Especially when it holds a population of around 127 million.  But what makes Japan so great?  Because as soon as you step on their soil, you know there is something wonderful about the place.  I’ve compiled a list of interesting characteristics about Japan and its people that have captured my love for this foreign, hello-kitty loving, beautiful place.   CUSTOMER SERVICE.  I haven’t been somewhere that has such great customer service.  They will literally run to get you what you asked for, or run around to try and make sure that the customer is happy.  I once asked about a product in the grocery store and they ran to the back of the store, bagged up what I needed, and ran it back to me in under two minutes. 2.       CUSTOMER SERVICE IN RESTAURANTS The customer service in restaurants is quite different than in the U.S.  Typically, they have a button at the table that you press when you are ready t
